About Amelia
Amelia is a dedicated Physiotherapist who graduated from James Cook University in 2020. Since then, she has brought her passion for helping others to PhysioMotion Cairns. Originally from Mackay, Amelia has embraced the vibrant Cairns lifestyle, enjoying everything the region has to offer while making a positive impact on the local community through her work.
Amelia has a keen interest in several areas of Physiotherapy, with a strong focus on Neurological, Geriatric, and general Musculoskeletal care. She is particularly passionate about treating neck pain and headaches, using her expertise to help patients find relief and improve their quality of life. Amelia's approach to Physiotherapy is holistic and patient-centered, ensuring that each individual receives tailored care that addresses their unique needs.
In addition to her core interests, Amelia has pursued special training in two niche areas: orofacial myology and vestibular Physiotherapy. Her skills in orofacial myology allows her to treat dysfunctions related to chewing, swallowing, sleeping, and speaking, helping patients overcome challenges that can significantly impact their daily lives. As a vestibular trained Physiotherapist, Amelia uses advanced techniques to diagnose and treat conditions like vertigo, helping patients regain their balance and confidence.
Outside of work, Amelia loves to explore the natural beauty of Far North Queensland. She often spends her free time going on hikes, where she can connect with nature and stay active. Gardening is another one of her passions, allowing her to unwind and enjoy the tranquility of the outdoors. When she’s not out and about, Amelia can be found solving puzzles, a hobby that keeps her mind sharp and engaged. Above all, she treasures the time spent with her husband Matt and their beloved dog Winnie, making the most of the moments they share together.
Amelia’s blend of professional expertise and personal warmth makes her a valued member of the PhysioMotion Cairns team. Her commitment to her patients and her love for the Cairns lifestyle shine through in everything she does.
